Welcome to the Website of Red Rock Yacht Club

Lake Red Rock is situated 55 miles southeast of Iowa's capital city, Des Moines, just a few miles from the well known Dutch community of Pella and the Sprint Car Capital in Knoxville. Formed by a man-made dam on the Des Moines River, the lake itself covers 19,000 acres on a 50,000 acre expanse of public land at normal pool. Excellent camping, hiking, lodging, and launching facilities are available around the lake. Rental slips are available at Red Rock Marina for an overnight stay or for the entire season.

(Click for larger view.)Red Rock Yacht Club was incorporated in 1977 and is open to all who have an interest in boating at Lake Red Rock. The club constructed a shelter in 2000 and maintains it as its primary meeting place and for public use near the Red Rock Marina on the north shore. With a full schedule of sailboat racing, social gatherings, work projects, other boating related activities, and our annual Iowa Interlakes Regatta, Red Rock Yacht Club offers something for everyone using the lake, whether they are just in for a short visit or are looking for a permanent home for their vessel.
